In addition to the rotational action of the spindle, it also oscillates vertically, meaning the risk of friction burns to the wood is greatly reduced, as well as ensuring that wear to the bobbin is spread evenly to give it the longest life possible.
As with the majority of Record Power machines, the large 370 x 370mm table is made from solid cast iron to provide the ideal surface for supporting workpieces; an essential feature for maximising ease of use and helping create the best finish. The table can be tilted from 0 to 45°, giving even more flexibility.
The BBS100 comes complete with three different sized bobbins, although three further bobbins are available as optional extras. Table inserts for all six available bobbins are included with the machine, as is a handy storage caddy on the side of the machine to keep them organised and safe.
